Welcome to Louise Goddard's blog

21st July 2010 blog post:

"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." ~ Henry David Thoreau

Anything created by man was a figment of someone’s imagination at some point…an idea. I interpret Thoreau’s ‘castles in the air’ as thoughts or ideas we have.

The ‘putting foundations under them’ is to realise or manifest them. Another way of saying this is now you’ve got your ideas/ambitions/goals in your mind, take action towards making them happen.

Incredible accomplishments can be realised through consistent daily action even if it’s just a case of taking 30 minutes a day.

Remember my blog about this last year? Here it is again for you. It only takes a minute to read and could prove motivational for some of you.

How often do you say, 'I don't have time to...'?

You just don't have time to work out, cannot set aside some time to start writing your first book, complete that assignment, send out job applications, make those calls… Whatever it is, you never seem to have time.

Relax. Start with what you've got available now. If you only have 30 minutes a day to spare, set those thirty minutes aside to work towards your goals. Yes, ok, it may be only half an hour, but taking small consistent actions every day towards your goals is extremely effective. After all, people have written bestsellers in the thirty minute train journey to work each day!

If you're currently doing precisely nothing towards a certain goal or task, put that seemingly meagre thirty minutes a day to use - starting today. By the end of the week you'll have done three and a half hours' work that you might not have done otherwise :)

It's incredible what people can get accomplished if they get into the habit of using a regular, short, slot of time. I believe in the magic of thinking big, but I also believe in the ‘magic’ of managing of time in small chunks :)

To your future success!
