Additional relevant background information about me:
I’ve worked successfully with a number of athletes that compete
regularly in world class competitions. We work on increasing focus,
consistency in the excellence they’ve achieved, building mental
resilience. The word and concept, ‘weaknesses’ don’t come into
it. In keeping with my NLP and hypnosis expertise, I focus only
on the desired results. It’s not possible to focus fully on winning
and at the same time mentally replay their past losses or indulge
in anxieties at a possible repetition of past loss. If they focus
on what they want, having already visualised it, anxieties or
uncertainties will disappear. Optimism and anxiety cannot co-exist
simultaneously.
Regarding scheduling sessions because of the team’s busy schedule,
please note that in ‘06 and ‘07 I worked with US soldiers serving
in Iraq – re dealing with stress release and with mental resilience
- and that if I can arrange ‘phone sessions around their missions
and taking into account the time zone difference, a sports team
schedule won’t present an issue for me. Additionally, since I
currently have no domestic commitments, I am able to work anti-social
hours with any of the players, e.g. after arriving late after
travelling.
I also bring to the table a lot of experience that other NLP-ers
and hypnotists don’t have – 10+ years of teaching experience before
I even started this business. I also have a good understanding
of sports - I bring a considerable amount of competition experience
to the table. I know and have experience of the issues in competing
in sports – I played as a forward for my town’s hockey team in
England for many years and competed in swimming at a high level
– I even represented my country’s schools and universities throughout
Europe. Being focused and accurate is also very important in the
equestrian events in which I was also actively involved for many
years.
