Louise Goddard, Course Writer and Curriculum Developer: Ethics
and Professional Practice for the new Performance Coaching Diploma
program, Algonquin College.
Operating with integrity in all areas of my life
is of utmost importance to me, so I was pleased and honoured
to be asked to develop the Ethics and Professional Practice
component of a ground-breaking Performance Coaching diploma
to be run online by, and accredited by, Algonquin College, a
major college in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I will also be the Tutor teaching the Ethics and
Professional Practice component of the Performance Coaching
Diploma program when it goes live in 2011.

A little of my career background
Since graduating from the University of Sheffield, England with
a triple honours degree in Russian, German and French, followed
by two years successfully studying Law at Leeds Business School,
I have coached and taught people from all over the world, from
various walks of life - from Belgian nuclear physicists to Swiss
financiers to Brazilian advertising execs to Finnish paper engineers.
As well as success coaching through NLP and hypnosis, I have
enjoyed two other careers, namely, in teaching and in Information
Technology. I worked for four years in IT for a major multi-national
IT company at various locations all over the world, most interestingly,
in Silicon Valley, California and at the BBC in London, England.
I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Certified Web Designer,
a Certified Novell Administrator and Microsoft Certified Trainer
to name but a few IT designations. Having lived and worked in
ten countries, I can be a mine of information and inspiration
if you're looking to take a different career direction :)
I have now accumulated well over ten years' international teaching,
training and coaching experience. Mostly this is face-to-face
however for seven years, I was also Senior online tutor to approx
1500 trainee teachers all over the globe during their distance
learning, on-line course, supporting their studies leading to
a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, plus
ESP including Teaching English for Business & for Academic
Purposes.
This experience of teaching and supporting people ‘remotely’ provides
a solid foundation for my current NLP and Hypnosis online and
phone with clients all over the world..
When I’m not indulging my favourite activity - assisting people
in positively changing their lives through Neuro-linguistic Programming
(NLP) coaching and Hypnosis, you may find me teaching professional
IT certification courses either in live online classes through
my own business, or at one or more career colleges in and around
Ottawa.
Interests
I have a great many interests. To name a few here: overseas travel,
golf, health and fitness activities like Tae Bo, Step aerobics
or other high-impact workouts five times a week, running - I run
4 miles every other day, cooking, eating(!), learning new things,
teaching, my wonderful German Shepherd dog and learning/acquiring
anything to do with computers or technology, helping people through
hypnosis and the science of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)
to recognise and utilise the resources they have within them to
make positive changes in their thinking, and thus their lives.
